Neutraliser™ EYEWASH & FACE-RINSE

A-Med

A-MedWhen seconds count, Neutraliser™ will provide immediate first aid & neutralize chemical burns in 3 seconds not 10! Ingredients immediately neutralize, (a better counter- action than just saline) the acid or alkali. It responds to all accidents - chemical or otherwise - with ONE "all risks" formula. It will stock most 500mL & 1L wall stations, in all locations, with an "all-risks" solution. FDA recommends 500mL as a minimum rinse volume for chemical burns.

Why use Neutraliser™ rather than just saline?.

  1. According to the National Safety Council study in 2011, 54.5% of eye injures are caused by chemical burns
  2. 70% of lost time eye injuries occur at work
  3. Saline lacks high buffer capacity (2 Phosphates), chelating agent (Disodium EDTA) and burn wound antiseptic (Polyhexanide) intervention

Features:

  • Quicker rinse design - ¼ twist'n pour.
  • High buffer capacity agents in the formula.
  • Formula includes an antiseptic preventing infection.
  • 100% rinse effect by design, no re-circulating eyecup.
  • Formula licensed by Health Canada NHP 80032394.
  • Refills chemical burn 1st Aid kits (formerly Neutralite™.
  • New slim BottlePod™ bracket fits hallways, warehouse posts, fork lifts, janitor's closets, lab workbenches.v
  • Now you can locate an "all-risk" solution close to the potential risk.

WHY USE Neutraliser™

A-Med

ANSI Z358.1-09 • Emergency Eye/Shower Standard

  • MSDS sheets dictate the requirement to flush an effected area for a minimum of 15 minutes of continues flow of water.
  • The eye/shower system must be located within an unimpeded 10 second walk or 55 feet from the hazard or immediately adjacent to strong alkali/base or acid.
  • The user must be able to activate the unit within 1 second and using a single hand operation.
  • Eyewash bottles do not meet the ANSI Z358.1 and they should not be used in place of these requirements.

HOW DOES AN EYEWASH BOTTLE PROGRAM
COMPLIMENT YOUR EMERGENCY EYE/SHOWER SYSTEMS?

Neutraliser™ RECOMMENDED USE

  • When seconds count, a 10 second walk to the emergency eye/shower system will cause irreparable damage to the contaminated body part.
  • Most companies do not place an emergency eye/shower system immediately adjacent to the alkali/base or acid as required by ANSI Z358.1 standard.
  • Neutraliser™.
    • Is intended to supplement emergency eye/shower systems.
    • The versatility allows the product to be placed with the individual or in close proximity.
    • Neutralizes the chemical agent immediately.

Neutraliser™ QUALITY YOU CAN SEE!©

  • 70% of "Lost time" eye injuries occur at work, 30% at home.
  • 54.5% eye injuries caused by chemical burns*.
    *National Safety Council 2011

HOW CHEMICALS BURN

  • Normal pH level:
    • Eye - between 7.2 to 7.4.
    • Skin - between 4.5 to 6.0.
  • Acids and Alkali cause the pH level of the body to either increase or decrease above or below the normal range.
  • The pH range of all chemical compounds is 1 to 14.
  • A pH of 7 is neutral and will not cause damage to the body.
  • As the pH level moves to either 1 or 14, the risk of injury to the body increases because the chemical burn intensifies.
  • Acids will lower the pH level towards 1.
  • Alkalis/base will raise the pH level towards 14.
  • Example:
    • Acids will lower the pH level of the body. This will cause a burning sensation and damage.
    • Alkalis/base will raise the pH level of the body. Again causing a burning sensation and damage.
  • Normal pH level:
    • Eye - between 7.2 to 7.4.
    • Skin - between 4.5 to 6.0.

WHEN SECONDS COUNT!

  • Neutraliser™ provides instant relief from a caustic burn to the eyes and skin with this multi-purpose formula (high buffer capacity agents, isotonic and saline).
  • Immediate neutralizing counter-action to normalize the pH value is not possible with just a sterile saline rinse (0.9% sodium chloride).

OUR FORMULA

  • HIGH BUFFER CAPACITY AGENTS; Out performs sterile water, sterile 0.9% sodium chloride rinse and preserved potable water eyewash stations.
    • Sodium phosphate monobasic neutralizes acids.
    • Sodium phosphate dibasic neutralizes alkali/base.
    • Sodium hydroxide acts as a pH adjuster.
  • Isotonic; Physiologically similar to liquids within the eye.
    • Non intrusive to the eye. Will not negatively impact the eye.
  • Saline (Sodium Chloride); Safely flushes the eye and wound site.
  • Sterile Solution; Ensures purity. No micro-organisms.
  • Polyhexanide; Kills germs - Especially in the eye.
    • Antiseptic to prevent further infection.
  • Disodium EDTA;
    • Preservative to ensure sterility for 3 years.
    • Required by FDA regulations.

¼ TURN VERSUS SCREW TOP

  • ¼ turn requires less then ½ seconds to open.
  • Person in distress with chemical in the eye is challenged in attempting to unscrew the bottle.
  • Fractions of a second can save an eye or prevent further injury.
  • Eyewash solution must be sterile.
  • 4L bottles are sterile but instructions state: Must Use contents immediately when opened.
  • Empty Eyewash bottle is not sterile.
